THE HISTORY OF THE CRAWFORDS

These Curtailed chapters from the Crawford Chronicles collated by:

J. R. CRAWFORD

The Rectory of Gaytonthorpe in East Walton in the County of Norfolk

are offered by him to his paternal "cousin" (that is, not a cousin who takes a paternal interest in him but to a fair lady who (on the Crawford side) is his first cousin), namely, to that daughter of his Uncle James, who was last married, for according to promise that marriage involved this manuscript.

Dec. 1898

The "fair lady" referred to above was Miss Fanny Crawford.

Typed by Lois Downey from a handwritten copy done by Eva Cook of the original handwritten book, in the possession of David Brown of Mississauga, Ontario.

[I have altered the format somewhat to make it more understandable, as the original was in two colours of ink. L.D.]
